My adventure in the finance world began as a residential loan officer during the tumultuous 16% interest rate days. But it was my '90s tenure at CitiFed Diversified that truly ignited my passion for the financing industry. Here, I took the reins, leading initiatives in FHA/VA mortgage acquisitions and overseeing vast lines of credit.
In the 2000s, my wife Melanie and I merged our professional worlds, founding a title and mortgage company. With her expertise as a licensed title agent and my deep-seated experience in financial lending, our enterprise swiftly expanded, serving over 2,400 mortgage brokers nationwide and achieving a remarkable 1,200 funding's a month.
The 2008 lending recession, however, posed unforeseen challenges. Adapting to the times, I was drawn to asset-based business lending, marking a significant chapter at Business Growth Capital. There, I nurtured invaluable connections with lenders—ties that empower me today to furnish businesses with matchless financial solutions.
By 2017, my expertise found a new home at FG Funding, further sharpening my focus on SBA lending. Identifying a niche for more tailored business financing, I founded Indymae, symbolizing years of unwavering commitment and expertise, and ensuring businesses pinpoint the perfect financial ally.
An extension of my dedication to empowering businesses is evident through my latest endeavor. I've launched a newsletter on LinkedIn, Capital Compass. This publication serves as a concise and comprehensive guide, shedding light on funding opportunities, emerging trends, and industry secrets. It's crafted to equip business owners with insights, ensuring they make well-informed decisions in their business financing pursuits.
Above all, one element remains a constant in my storied journey: my steadfast dedication to my clients' aspirations and challenges. On a more personal note, having moved to Tampa Bay in 1981 from Chicago, Florida feels like home, given the majority of my life I've spent in this beautiful state. With six children, there's never a dull moment in my life. I deeply cherish the times spent with them, especially on the water. On any given pleasant day, you can find me on one of the islands around Tampa Bay, relishing the sea breeze and the sun. Fishing and being on the water serve as my sanctuary – a place where I unwind and recharge.
